My silly musicians

Garrett and Makayla both LOVE music. Whenever any tune comes on they immediately start grooving with the beat. It is really cute.
They also both love to play the piano, well bang on the piano is more correct but you get the point.

One day they were both in the living room delighting me with this talent, so I wandered in to take a picture of them and started to laugh out loud and as you look at the pic you will understand why

Where did their pants go?

I sure do love these kids!

Garrett and his breakfast

I am not exactly sure where Garrett got his love for breakfast and all foods that go with breakfast but the boy can't get enough. He regularly asks me for bacon meat and one morning when we had no bacon meat in the house crying ensued for half an hour.

One morning he asked for bacon meat, pancakes and eggs. Yes he is that particular, he even prefers his eggs over medium...ya opinionated 2 year old for sure.
Anyway he was eating and said mom picture? You want me to take a picture of you I asked. He responded my breakfast.

So I took a picture of him eating his breakfast. Yes he has already devoured his bacon meat by the time I took the pic.
He is a silly silly goof ball.

Makayla Turns 1!

Can you believe it, my baby is already one!
She had a really fun day filled with the whole family from both sides.
We had soup and salad for dinner with cake and ice cream for dessert. A friend of mine (Leslie Smith) made her a cute little caterpillar cake.
Makayla wasn't quite sure what to think of the cake but she sure knew what to do with it once it had been served.

She wasted no time eating it up and making a huge mess.

Before we dug into the cake we opened presents. Yes that is me with brown hair.

She got a very large sum of new clothes which she needed as she is quickly outgrowing all of the things I had previously bought for her.
She also got some cute toys and her favorite a baby doll from Uncle Randy,Aunt Becah and Riley.
We have given it the name dolly.

We really appreciated all who came to celebrate our little Kayla - she is a little sweetheart and we love her so much.

Ogden Family Reunion

We had a fun time with my family this summer doing a variety of things and one of those things was the family reunion.
Luckily everyone was able to make it except for my brother in law Brandon who was working and couldn't get away.

We went to the zoo, it was a lot of fun and all of the cousins had a great time playing with each other.
They went on the carousel,

watched all of the animals

and took pictures in front of the Rhino statue.

Makayla even measured up to the infant gorilla, it was way cute.

Great Grandpa Spencer and Makayla had a fun time giving each other looks. She kept looking over at him when she thought he wasn't looking and then getting surprised when she saw that he was looking at her...super cute.

Somehow McKenzie was elusive for all of our pictures at the zoo but she wasn't able to escape the family pictures.
Everyone looked their best that day and for the most part everyone was happy and well behaved.

I hope that everyone had a great time cause we sure did.

Cookie Monster

Makayla loves loves loves Oreos. She just has this one horrible thing when it comes to eating them, they get EVERYWHERE!
Most of the time I completely strip her down and immediately put her in the bath afterward.

This one particular day she was way out of control so I just shoved her in her high chair and gave her the cookie.
I came back and she naturally was covered

but the color of her blue shirt just made her eyes look amazingly beautiful and despite the cookie covered face I just had to take lots and lots of pictures.

I don't know what you think but I think she looks gorgeous even with the cookie coating

Fishing!

I know that it is a complete shock that I am FINALLY updating the blog but give me a break I have been doing a ton of homework.

Anyway we had a great summer filled with with really fun things.

One thing that we did was to go fishing with my parents and siblings. The plan was that we would all catch a bunch of fish and then have them for dinner the next day. Granted went to a place that is stocked with fish regularly so we were sure we would be fine.

Well we waited and waited...got really muddy, and one fish was caught. Jordan was the first to get one and it was a little under whelming.

After that Jordan and Garrett sat down and played with a snake that they had found. Garrett was a little weary about it and kept practically jumping out of Jordans arms to try to get away.

Makayla mostly hung out with Grandpa Ogden. She had lots of fun just sitting on his lap and wandering around the 3 different ponds in the area.

After about an hour and a half we had about 6 really small fish and then all of a sudden a HUGE fish jumped out of the water.
Guess who had it on his pole...Garrett. (okay it was actually the girl running the place who caught it but she immediately gave the pole to Gman and he with my help reeled it in)
He was so thrilled. He really didn't want to touch it but we made him so we could take a picture with the catch of the day.

It was enough to feed us all so we packed up and headed home.
It really was a great day and I look forward to doing it again next year.

Oregon Coast

In July we had a wonderful Fitzgerald Family Reunion in Seaside, OR.
It was an absolute blast and we had a lot of fun hanging with the fam and such...unfortuantely we didn't document the trip very well. We did manage to have a cute pic taken of Jordan & I on the beach though.
Jordan also took some beautiful shots of the coast.

It was a great vacation and I can't wait for the next one :)

Beautiful Kids

The other night Jordan was working on the shed and the kids and I were just playing in the sand and grass and they were being so cute I just had to whip out the camera
.

I love the little smirk on Makaylas face in this pic
It really amazes me everyday to see what beautiful little kids I have.

Garrett almost looks like he has gray hair on this pic due to all of the sand he threw in it..which is not a fun clean up btw

Makayla & her toys

Makayla got a bumbo for Christmas. She really loves to sit in and grab all the toys that she can. When she first started sitting in it she was so small that it just dwarfed her and now I can barely get her fat little legs in it. Unfortunately I don't have a recent pic of her in it and since she is asleep right now I definitely am not going to get one any time soon.Makayla also loves her other toys that were once Garrett's. He never really cared for them but now that Makayla is always playing with them he has decided that he also needs to help her play with them..or give her all the toys, and yes that is one of Jordan's shoes that he has also given her. Please note the dirty face on Gman -he hates for me to clean it up- don't judge me to harshly :)

Garrett's 2nd Birthday

Garrett's 2nd B-day Party was this last March and it was really fun. We had all the aunts & Uncles, Grandmas & Grandpas that could make it come over to the house for presents and birthday cake.Garrett being the car lover he is naturally had a Disney Cars birthday Cake. He saw it at Maceys and after that there was no way we could do a different cake. He also got tons of cars for his birthday including one that he can drive himself, as well as books, a music maker and clothes.
Mom & Dad also got him a bike.
Garrett was really cute, every gift he opened he would take it to someone for them to unwrap. Probably a bit premature but he was excited for it and one day he will really like it.

The Shed

Jordan and I decided that we wanted and desperately needed a shed since we have so much JUNK and no basement to put it in. So we have been working on it every wkend for a month now and it is so close to being done.Jordan has worked so hard to get it done and has really done a great job, he designed the whole thing himself and has executed it very well.
We have had a bunch of help from Parents, Brothers, Sisters and Sis In Laws all coming to either watch the kids or lend a helping hand in the "barn" raising. Thanks BTW we have really appreciated all the help.

Garrett and his Fort

Garrett loves to build forts but I usually forget to take a picture of him in it before he destroys it 2 min later.Today I finally remembered and caught a few snaps of him in it and lots of him destroying it. I really wish it would entertain him for longer, maybe one day.

San Diego

In May we took a family vacation to San Diego. It was the first trip that we have taken since Makayla joined our family. I can honestly say that I was pretty stressed out about the 10-12 hour drive but it actually went pretty good. We only had a few extra stops due to diaper change and massive spit up/clothes changes.
We had such a nice time out there. Since we have been to San Diego frequently we decided that this time would be all about relaxation. It was so nice to lounge around, swim at the pool, go to the beach and really not worry about any deadlines at all. Garrett and Makayla both LOVED the pool. I already knew that G-man liked to swim but I had no idea how much Makayla liked it. I unfortunately don't have any pics of her in the pool just of Garrett. One of the times we went to the pool Aunt Lonnie and her 2 boys Zane & Reid came down as well. Garrett loved being able to swim and hang out with his cousins.
We went to the beach 2 times during our trip and had a nice time. Garrett is still pretty hesitant about going into the ocean but he loved digging in the sand and making a sand castle (pile) with his dad.
Makayla wanted to be up doing everything that Garrett was doing but I was more hesitant to let her as she still has sensitive baby skin and I really didn't want to deal with sunburned baby. Instead she spent most of the time with Mom under a makeshift shaded area. Jordan and I both took her down to the beach and despite the water being cold she seemed to enjoy the water.
Jordan's parents were also in San Diego and they watched the kids for us one night so that we could go on a date. It was really nice to get away. We went down to the Oceanside Harbor and walked out on the jetty and while we were out there we saw a baby whale flicking it's tail in and out of the water, it was pretty cool. Then we walked along the beach, grabbed a bite to eat and some dessert and headed back to the condo.
We really did have a great time and I look forward to going back as soon as possible.
