The Shed

Jordan and I decided that we wanted and desperately needed a shed since we have so much JUNK and no basement to put it in. So we have been working on it every wkend for a month now and it is so close to being done.Jordan has worked so hard to get it done and has really done a great job, he designed the whole thing himself and has executed it very well.
We have had a bunch of help from Parents, Brothers, Sisters and Sis In Laws all coming to either watch the kids or lend a helping hand in the "barn" raising. Thanks BTW we have really appreciated all the help.

Garrett and his Fort

Garrett loves to build forts but I usually forget to take a picture of him in it before he destroys it 2 min later.Today I finally remembered and caught a few snaps of him in it and lots of him destroying it. I really wish it would entertain him for longer, maybe one day.

San Diego

In May we took a family vacation to San Diego. It was the first trip that we have taken since Makayla joined our family. I can honestly say that I was pretty stressed out about the 10-12 hour drive but it actually went pretty good. We only had a few extra stops due to diaper change and massive spit up/clothes changes.
We had such a nice time out there. Since we have been to San Diego frequently we decided that this time would be all about relaxation. It was so nice to lounge around, swim at the pool, go to the beach and really not worry about any deadlines at all. Garrett and Makayla both LOVED the pool. I already knew that G-man liked to swim but I had no idea how much Makayla liked it. I unfortunately don't have any pics of her in the pool just of Garrett. One of the times we went to the pool Aunt Lonnie and her 2 boys Zane & Reid came down as well. Garrett loved being able to swim and hang out with his cousins.
We went to the beach 2 times during our trip and had a nice time. Garrett is still pretty hesitant about going into the ocean but he loved digging in the sand and making a sand castle (pile) with his dad.
Makayla wanted to be up doing everything that Garrett was doing but I was more hesitant to let her as she still has sensitive baby skin and I really didn't want to deal with sunburned baby. Instead she spent most of the time with Mom under a makeshift shaded area. Jordan and I both took her down to the beach and despite the water being cold she seemed to enjoy the water.
Jordan's parents were also in San Diego and they watched the kids for us one night so that we could go on a date. It was really nice to get away. We went down to the Oceanside Harbor and walked out on the jetty and while we were out there we saw a baby whale flicking it's tail in and out of the water, it was pretty cool. Then we walked along the beach, grabbed a bite to eat and some dessert and headed back to the condo.
We really did have a great time and I look forward to going back as soon as possible.

We love the G-Man!

Just before Halloween I decided to have a little adventure with Garrett. I took him up Provo Canyon to see the leaves, play at the park and take super cute pictures. I decided to take his costume up as well and see if we could get some pictures in a setting more suitable to a dragon.

I think all of the pictures turned out great but these were my favorites of the bunch. He is such a cutie and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy.

Halloween

Well this is a little late but we had a really great Halloween this year. Garrett understood the idea of Halloween this year and had a great time walking around and getting candy. He looked so cute in his Dragon Costume and he actually liked getting put into the costume.
We also had a lot of fun carving pumpkins, Garrett thought it was yucky but by the end he was reaching in and pulling out the seeds and guts of the pumpkin, although he used a spoon not his hands.

Jordan made a Dwight Schrute pumpkin and I did a Graveyard scene. Jordan's turned out a lot better than mine but we had a great time as a family.

Garrett also enjoyed going to the Pumpkin Patch with Mom and Grandma. He got to pet the animals, go on a hayride, sit on a tractor (his favorite) and pick out his own pumpkin.

Makayla Logan Cook

Well it is official, I am the world's worst blogger. I have so many updates but I will do the most important one first and update from there.

Makayla is finally here! She was born on November 8, 2009. She weighed 6 lbs 2oz and was 19 in. long. She is still extremely tiny but growing. She is beautiful. I can't even express how pretty she is. She was born with dark thick black hair and olive skin.

She has been such an easy baby to take care of, she already sleeps well throughout the night and has such a mild temperament. She is now almost 4 wks old and it seems to me that she was never not a part of our family. Garrett loves her so much and is happy to help me with her. He is very protective of her already and is very concerned if she starts to cry. Every morning he will come into our room and say "Kayla" and give her a kiss. He is also very soft with her and he loves to rub her head.

Makayla is such a sweetheart and I really can't say how fun it is to have a little girl, I love putting bows in her hair and put her in cute little outfits. Jordan and I couldn't be happier, both of our cute little kids are great!

San Diego

We took our annual vacation to San Diego this past month and are wishing that we were back already. We did quite a few things and had a great time. We visited the La Jolla cove and went out on to the sea wall. Garrett loved to see the ocean crash onto the rocks.

We also had Melissa take a picture of all 3 of us at the Cove. It was hard to get Garrett to look at the camera. There was so much to look at.We then decided that a good activity would be to drive down to the San Diego temple and walk around the grounds. They were beautiful and it was nice to go somewhere so calm and relaxing. This picture was taken at the base of the temple. We went to the beach and Garrett loved sitting with me on the beach and watching the ocean. He was not so happy when I tried to take him down to the water (yes I did get in my swimsuit at 5 months pregnant) He wanted nothing to do with the cold ocean water and I ended up spending most of the time trying to show him it was alright. I thought he may have a change of heart when Grandpa came and tried to show him how fun the ocean was...let's just say nothing changed at least until Daddy tried. He had no problem going down into the water when Jordan was holding him. After he got tired of the water he showed his new skill of giving high fives to Uncle Ben.While we were in San Diego we also decided to hit up some of the outlet malls that they have. Garrett found this cool fountain and loved playing in it. He didn't get to wet so we let him have his fun.
We also were able to meet Jordan's Great Grandmother Maxine. We had his Grandpa and Dad come with us and we took a 5 generation photo. The pic isn't the best but at least we have one. She was taken by Garrett who thank goodness was good the whole time we were able to visit.

We also celebrated my 27th Birthday while we were in San Diego. Jordan planned a great day for me. We went to the Cabrillo Monument. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and while we were there we got to see a Submarine get pulled in by a tug boat. It was pretty neat. Afterwards we went to Horton Plaza to have lunch and do some more shopping. Garrett loved the Food Court, it was open air and there were birds everywhere. I thought it was kind of disgusting but he really enjoyed it and surprised us all by saying "birds" for the first time.
We had some time to kill before we met Jordan's Grandparents for dinner so we headed over to Seaport Village and did some more shopping. I really like it there, they have really cute boutique style shops and it is always fun to see what the stores have.
We went to dinner at a little Italian restaurant called Filipi's. Jordan and I went there our first year of marriage and I have been wanting to go back ever since. It was yummy and it was nice to celebrate with so many people who I love.

Our last day in San Diego we took easy. We took Garrett to the pool and he loved it. I was really surprised at how quickly he took to the water. In no time he was jumping into our arms and wanting to strike out on his own. The water was also warm so I think that helped as well.

Jordan's parents had left that morning and Garrett missed them, he would go into their room and look for them. I thought the cutest thing was that he decided to wait for them in the hallway. He took a pillow off our bed and laid down for them to come back.

We had a really great time in San Diego and are so excited for the next time we are there.
